About our client
Our client is one of the top 500 American companies quoted on the New York Stock Exchange.
In order to strengthen the financial department of the European headquarters based in Luxembourg, we are looking for a high level European Financial Accountant.
Job description
Part of the European headquarter finance team and reporting directly to the European Finance Manager, you will be in involved in :
- Responsible for the bookkeeping of four local entities (treatment of invoices, general ledger, cash pooling, loans and interest schedules, prepayments and accruals etc)
- Responsible for both legal reporting and dealing with local auditors.
- Responsible for the monthly management reporting process to tight deadlines under US GAAP.
- The adherence to intern compliance, and the constant improvement of the procedures
- Inter-company reconciliations and the organization of company loans (including interest calculations)
- The preparation of VAT returns and ad hoc duties
Who we are looking for
- You have a qualification in accounting (ACCA, DESCF or Bilanzbuchhalter or equivalent)
- You are fluent in English and German. French or any other European language are an asset.
- You have been involved in monthly reporting (day + 5) in either US GAAP, or IFRS.
- You have dealt with management financial reporting in terms of implementation of new indicators and analyses from business perspective.
- You have already been in charge of or involved in forecasting and budgeting within a quoted company.
- You have good experience in the accounting of inter-company transactions ( including transfer pricing, calculation of inter-company loan interest,exchange rate implications, management fees).
- You are able to cope with tight deadlines and work under pressure
- You have strong analytical skills
- You are to the point, have strong communication skills and are able to create your own network at all levels of the organisation.
