About our client:
Our client is a leading international investment manager, delivering world class investment products, which are carefully designed and constructed to meet specific client needs.
They are currently looking for a junior accountant to provide support to the local Head of Finance in Luxembourg, in order to control and direct the finance function supporting the Luxembourg group companies.
Job description:
Your responsibilities will include:
- Weekly reconciliation of pending premiums, surrenders, death claims and policy holder loans
- Monthly calculations and accruals of interest on policy holder loans
- Monthly reconciliation of pending Investment accounts
- Fixed assets reconciliation for Luxembourg entities and depreciation postings
- Purchase ledger and Bank reconciliations (Luxembourg entities)
- Developing part of accounting policies & procedures for CE entities
- Supporting Head of Finance in regulatory reporting to CSSF and CAA
- Supporting Head of Finance in audit preparation
- Answer any ad-hoc queries from Business
- Weekly or bi-weekly travel to Paris to support the team in their reconciliation work
- As the office and infrastructure in Luxembourg is new, you will handle more tasks as the activity will rise, and you will put in place processes and workflow
Profile:
- You have an academic degree in Accounting
- You have a previous experience as an Insurance Accountant
- You speak English and French fluently
- You have a good understanding of accounting principles
- You are proactive and autonomous
- You are easy going and have very good communication skills
