Our client, an American investment company, was established 40 years ago and operates in markets outside the Americas. The company and its subsidiaries now manage more than US$246 billion assets for investors around the world – institutions as well as private individuals. From its European Central Finance department in Luxemburg it supports the management of the offices in continental Europe.
The Fund Accountant actively participates in the daily fund accounting operations with the main area of focus being review and oversight of outsourced activities. In addition he/she will also be involved in fund validation and publication of the daily NAV’s for the Luxembourg SICAVS and FCP’s (this role involves shift work (3-4) shifts per month from 1.00PM to 8.30PM) and will also participate and assist in the year end Audit reviews of the funds under administration.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
• Review of daily income and equalisation calculations
• Ensure all Daily processes are completed in line with procedures and output is reviewed for accuracy
• Review of daily NAV information for the offshore product range, including funds domiciled in Luxembourg and the Cayman Islands
• Ensure all Daily processes are completed in line with procedures and output is reviewed for accuracy
• Completion of the NAV Validation and Fund price release process as directed
• Participate with peers in enhancing current process and implementing procedural improvements to reduce risks and improve efficiency
• Ensure that all tools, checklists, procedures, etc are maintained for all processes
• Supervise and assist Junior Fund Accountants in their day to day tasks
• Work closely with Automation team to improve/review the existing processes
• Act as back-up for colleagues when required
• Assist the department in the successful completion of all fund audits ensuring all audit queries are dealt with timely and complete
• Supervise and participate in Reconciliation process
• Partner with Key stakeholders and develop good working relationships with the following:
o UK Operations teams-The majority of Investment Administration operations are based in UK.
o Fund Accounting Project, Reporting, Operations Control & Automation team
Qualifications and experience:
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the fund management industry preferably working in a fund accounting or similar fund administration role
• Proficient in English (spoken and written)
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong organisational and planning skills , capable of working to tight deadlines
• Strong problem solving and decision making skills
• Autonomous but also a good team player
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Results oriented, rigorous
