International company with a strong focus on IP rights in the IT sector and online industry. In order to start up an accounting department in Luxembourg our client is looking for a Chief Accountant who will help to set up the company
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provides overall efficient accounting for the company in IP/IT sector
- Performs a wide range of local financial functions, including documentation and reporting
- Maintains the local books of accounts properly in accordance with accounting standards including accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenses, cash flows, accruals, prepaid, fixed assets, recharges, cost of services, financial results
- Responsible for the taxes calculations and reporting
- Prepares and controls taxes, advises management on taxation problem
- Prepares and reports timely and accurate all financial, tax and statistical documentation and reports in accordance with Luxembourg and EU regulations
- Protects and controls corporate assets, financial discipline, is responsible for maintaining up-to-date inventory of fixed assets, material assets, monetary resources, accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Maintains effective liaison with local banks, suppliers, clients, consultants, lawyers, tax authority funds
- Takes part in cross-functional projects (e.g. billing system development)
- Monitors of accounting and tax legislation, consultation of employees
Profile of the Ideal Candidate
- Economical background, experience with EU tax system
- Experience in IT companies and gaming industry in international environment
- 5+ years experience as a Chief Accountant
- Relevant knowledge and PC skills
- Experience in VAT returns and Annual VAT
- Operational tasks like monthly budgeting, running of expenses and the overall forecast
- Several corporate matters, board meetings, salary payment, interviewing for new personal, training of financial hires
- Very good command of English
- Team Player – is willing to work with a team of talented individuals, is energetic and has bright ideas to contribute to the success of the organization
- Strong analytical, communication, time management and organizational skills
